Something that Oracle could do to truly revolutionize the Sun stack they bought: drop the “Java” from the Virtual Machine name. This would solidify the fact that you can use nearly any style language you wish, not just Java.

The important part of this presentation is about the virtual machine and it’s performance/scaling. Not the language. In fact if he never mentioned languages at all the presentation is still valuable.
